Booking

When we booked our reservation for Park Hyatt Mallorca in February of 2019, it was a Category 5 property, costing 20,000 World of Hyatt points for a free night in a standard room [1 King Bed]. In March of 2019, it was upgraded to a Category 6 property, changing the point redemption rate to 25,000 World of Hyatt points for a free night in a standard room. 

Update: As of March 2020, Park Hyatt Mallorca has been downgraded to a Category 5 property.  
Update: As of July 2020, Park Hyatt Mallorca is leaving Hyatt and will be rebranded. The hotel is expected to reopen in March 2021, and will be rebranded as a Cap Vermell property.

Travel

Mallorca is one of Spain's Balearic Islands and is a short 55-minute flight from Barcelona [BCN]. Park Hyatt Mallorca sits in a quiet part on the eastern edge of Mallorca near the small town of Canyamel. It takes approximately 59 minutes via Ma-15 to travel from Palma de Mallorca Airport [PMI] to Park Hyatt Mallorca. We found renting a car was necessary, given the location and our plans to explore the island [beach hopping, eating local, wine tasting, etc.]. The drive was rather easy, as the roads are well-maintained — but there are several roundabouts along the way. Our rental car, a Renault Captur [a subcompact crossover], was spacious enough to stow our luggage, but also small enough to navigate into and out of the narrow-cobbled alleyways of Spain.
